Biographie Nicolas Brooymans

Nicolas Brooymans secured himself in a short time an undeniable place on the musical stage: the beauty and ease of the vocal instrument from bass to treble, the intensity of the song and an indisputable stage presence earned him ever more numerous engagements on prestigious stages.

Nicolas is regularly engaged as soloist with prestigious baroque ensemble as Ensemble Pygmalion – Raphaël Pichon, Collegium 1704 – Vaclav Luks, I Gemelli – Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, Correspondances – Sébastien Daucé, Versailles Royal Orchestra… to interpret the great works of sacred repertoire such as Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C minor, Bach’s Passions, Handel’s Messiah, the Seven Last Words of Christ and Haydn’s Creation, but also the more lyrical repertoire as Berlioz Summer Nights, Puccini Missa di Gloria, Verdi Requiem, Rossini Stabat Mater…

In the operatic repertoire, the roles of Sarastro in The Magic Flute, the Commander in Mozart Don Giovanni, Osmin in Die Entführung aus dem SerailHill in Puccini La Bohème, Zuniga in Carmen, Don Magnifico in Cenerentola are as easy as the singing is frank and noble. Nicolas’ repertoire includes also Seneca in Monteverdi L’Incoronazione di PoppeaAntonoo and Tempo in Monteverdi Il Ritorno d’Ulisse, and Plutone/Caronte in Monteverdi Orfeo.
